The Medication Support Team (MST) is instrumental in our patients’ treatment as they support our clinicians by assisting in the management of patients medications. The Medication Support Team Lead (remote in TX, NC, SC, or FL) is responsible for thorough, accurate reporting and documentation of refill requests, as well as any point of service patient care issues that may be resolved via our med line or the patient portal. The MST Lead, along with the MST Manager, plays a major role in the overall functionality and oversight of the MST team.

Working Hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm ET

Responsibilities:

  • Work under the supervision of the MST Manager, maintain professional standards of clinical care according to your specialty certification or licensure, if applicable.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, coordination and supervision of team.
  • Assist with auditing and daily reports as needed and reports findings to MST Manager.
  • Serves as a primary point of contact for team members.
  • Foster team autonomy by empowering decision-making, task assignments and problem solving.
  • Assist with complicated cases or crisis calls.
  • Hands-on, providing direct guidance, mentoring and coaching to the team.
  • Serve as role model for the team in the day-to-day operations.
  • Aid in training new team members and provide ongoing education on new workflows and continued learning opportunities.
  • Be Involved in day-to-day performance monitoring and provide feedback for team members.
  • Have a close understanding of the teams’ dynamics and individual contributions.
  • Ensure compliance with medication management protocols and healthcare regulations
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Maintain effective communication across multiple departments for collaborative care.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, based on team needs, including but not limited to:
    • Answer live calls from patients regarding their prescriptions and assist with prescription and prior authorization troubleshooting
    • Process E-Prescriptions refills, faxed prescription refill requests, AMD patient portal refill requests, and voicemails
    • Manage tasks and messages from front office staff and providers regarding medication related questions and issues
  • Provide out of office and leave of absence clinician support

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience managing prescription refill requests
  • 3 years’ experience in behavioral health or addiction recovery field preferred
  • Training or experience working directly with patients in medication coordination and management under the supervision of a physician
  • Ability to manage multiple requests simultaneously
  • Experience with fostering a collaborative team environment and promoting open communication is preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills and phone etiquette
  • Works well independently and in a team environment
  • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably in healthcare or medication management environment preferred

Licenses/Certifications

  • Certification as a Pharmacy Tech, Certified Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician
