Can be utilized for psychiatric evaluations and medication management sessions

DURHAM, N.C. – July 15, 2020 – MindPath Care Centers, North Carolina’s largest outpatient mental and behavioral healthcare provider, is now accepting Medicaid at its Cary, Charlotte, Durham, Raleigh, and Wilson offices. The health insurance can be utilized for psychiatric evaluations and medication management sessions. Psychotherapy sessions will also be covered soon, and a waiting list is now open.

“We are very pleased to be able to offer Medicaid insurance reimbursement to our patients that receive psychiatric evaluations and medication management services at five of our eight office locations,” said Jeff Williams, CEO for MindPath Care Centers. “This new option provides greater access to care for Medicaid recipients and we look forward to expanding the program to additional MindPath Care Center locations throughout the state of North Carolina.”

Medicaid helps with medical costs for some people with limited income and resources. Medicaid also offers benefits not normally covered by Medicare, including nursing home care and personal care services. The program covers more than 1 million people in North Carolina, including children, elderly, blind, and/or disabled people, and people who are eligible to receive federally assisted income maintenance payments.

In order to qualify for the Medicaid benefit program, patients must be a resident of the state of North Carolina, a U.S. national, citizen, permanent resident, or legal alien, in need of health care/insurance assistance, whose financial situation would be characterized as low income or very low income. More information on North Carolina’s Medicaid Program can be found at https://www.benefits.gov/benefit/1390. Patients can receive outpatient mindcare at MindPath Care Centers under the Medicaid plan unless they have a diagnosis or suspected diagnosis of schizophrenia or psychosis in which case, they will be referred to a higher level of care. Other outpatient care qualifications include a permanent address and the ability to make it to in-office appointments on time.
