About Barbara L Johnston, PHDDr. Barbara Johnston chose to become a psychotherapist because of her own experience in therapy. Her journey to self-discovery made her more of a whole person and she learned to accept her flaws, even as she continues to improve herself. It was a powerful lesson she strives to share with all of her patients. For 12 years, she worked as a psychotherapist in a California state prison. During this time, she helped patients, many considered outcasts in society, observe themselves in a safe setting and make good choices. Today, Dr. Johnston works with adults who are in pain and struggling to solve their problems. She enjoys travelling abroad, working with children in an educational setting, hosting parties, and going out to lunch with friends.
