About Denita Dickson, LCSW
Denita is board-certified and has more than 20 years of experience in the mental health field. She also brings more than five years of experience working with members of the military and their families. She helps patients with anxiety, depression, bereavement, family estrangement, unresolved childhood issues, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Denita is also an ally and advocate for members of the LGBTQIA+ community. She provides supportive counseling to patients with cancer and AIDS. She completes same-day initial evaluations and utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, eclectic therapy, interpersonal therapy, person-centered therapy, reality therapy, solution-focused therapy, positive psychology, and mindfulness. Denita is inspired by quotes and poems from William Blake and Frederick Douglas, who spoke about the human condition and suffering. From there, her desire grew to help individuals learn about cognitive restructuring and manage behaviors to reduce symptoms and improve their quality of life. Denita encourages patients to identify goals for discovery, healing, and self-empowerment.Education & Certifications
