About Gabrielle Wanchek, LMFTGabrielle Wanchek, MA, LMFT, a licensed marriage and family therapist came to the field of therapy and psychology through her own journey with trauma and therapy more than twenty years ago. It became a passion of hers that she chose to pursue through Antioch University, Los Angeles. Gabrielle graduated in 2012, where she earned her degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Civilian Trauma. After graduating, Gabrielle worked with the homeless community, specifically with individuals connected to diversion and reentry, for eight years. She then transferred her talents to CLARE/Matrix in Santa Monica, where she was the Program Manager for the Men’s Residential Treatment Program, working with individuals that were in need of substance use treatment, helping guide their treatments to successful conclusions. Gabrielle works primarily with trauma, substance use and co-occurring disorders, and victims of domestic violence as well as teens and tweens. She is also LGBTQIA+ affirmative. Other specialties include chronic illnesses, mood disorders, as well as school/youth sports issues. In her free time, Gabrielle plays and coaches ice hockey, writes fiction, and enjoys cooking. She also participates in animal rescue work and volunteers time as a whale watch educator. Gabrielle is a native of Orange County but has lived in the Los Angeles area since 2006.
