About Jennifer Bernhoft, LMFT
Jennifer Bernhoft is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She graduated with her Bachelors of Arts degree from Lourdes University with a major in psychology. She then attended Antioch University and graduated with a Masters of Arts in clinical psychology. Additional coursework was completed at Antioch University in order to obtain a specialization in child studies.Jennifer completed her internship with South Bay Center for counseling, in which she implemented therapy sessions with children, adolescents and parents at school, home, and clinic-based settings. Post licensure, she transitioned to Del Amo Hospital where she conducted assessments for psychiatric inpatient hospitalization. Jennifer was later employed at Center For Discovery, a dual-diagnosis residential facility for adolescents, as a Primary Therapist. There, she implemented intensive individual, family and group therapy. The focus was placed on supporting clients through the recovery process, improving family dynamics and planning for reintegration into a healthy lifestyle during the post-residential period. In her current practice, Jennifer is effective in integrating the skills gained through her treatment history into her work with children, adolescents, adults, and families.
Jennifer offers a warm, enthusiastic, and nonjudgmental platform in order to facilitate comfortability throughout the therapeutic process. She places focus on the identification of contributing factors to symptoms, assimilation of healthy coping strategies, self-esteem building and strengthening of communication skills.
