About Jessica Thomas, PA

Jessica Thomas decided to become a physician assistant because she enjoys caring for patients as part of an interdisciplinary health care team, making a meaningful, positive impact on patients' health and well-being, and learning about science and medicine. Practicing as a physician assistant in the field of psychiatry is a perfect fit for her. Jessica is passionate about caring for and building rapport with patients and offering them evidence-based interventions that improve their lives. She wants to engage in shared decision-making with patients to enact evidence-based interventions that improve their mental and emotional health. From her undergraduate degree in psychology, to her 3 years of experience working in mental health at an acute inpatient psychiatric facility, and most recently her UNC PA program courses devoted to psychiatry and clinical rotation in Behavioral Medicine at UNC Memorial Hospital, Jessica has a wealth of experience in psychiatry that she will utilize to best serve her patients. She hopes to serve as a source of support and encouragement for her patients. Jessica believes her background puts her in a good position to provide high-quality, effective psychiatric care to patients.

Being able to fully open up is tough but realizing that its the only way to help with the depression and anxiety truly felt no judgement, heard, and willingness to help.
