About Lucia Olson, LMFT
Lucia Olson, LMFT graduated from Santa Clara University with a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology. She completed her undergraduate degree in English at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, and has a Ph.D. in English Literature. Lucia grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, but spent time after high school in New England, Virginia and Illinois while attending college and graduate school. She moved back to the Bay Area in 1995 and taught and counseled Bay Area Community College students of all ages while getting her master's in counseling psychology. She has worked for Santa Clara County behavioral health, Home First, Calaveras County behavioral health and served as a clinical director at Cielo House, an eating disorders treatment clinic in San Jose. She has training in DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), RO-DBT, ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy) (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy), and attachment-focused therapy modalities and has trained with the Affirmative Couch in working with LGBTQ adolescents and adults. She works with clients of all ages, including clients with psychotic disorders, depression, and anxiety, eating disorders, postpartum depression, self-harming behaviors, patients on the autism spectrum, and patients going through a divorce and engaging in co-parenting. In her free time, Lucia enjoys hanging out with her 3 young adult children and 3 cats, along with hiking, learning languages, reading, and meditating. During the pandemic, she discovered a local zoom movie night group which provided a sense of community and fun.Education & Certifications
