About Mary Byrd Pettenati, LCSW

Mary Pettenati has personal connections with people experiencing various social concerns, mental health, and substance use disorders. Throughout her professional, academic, and individual experiences, she found herself drawn to the mental health and social work fields due to the holistic approach to caring for people. She loves being part of everyone’s journey in finding healing. Mary also loves challenging preconceived standards to create real change for people. People can do hard things and make changes. Find your power, lean into discomfort, and set boundaries for what is yours – Mary shares. She genuinely does not judge patients for their past or current experiences, thoughts, emotions, or beliefs. She does not see herself as a coach, but rather as a teammate with her patients. Her job is to help patients achieve their goals, not for her to push an ulterior motive.
