Najma Mashadi, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who graduated from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom. Her career began in Manchester and she brings her warm, friendly down to earth personality along with her British humor into the therapy session in a very respectful and meaningful way.Najma has worked with adults, adolescents, and children with depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance abuse disorders. She has provided crisis intervention, risk assessments, and supportive therapy with children, adults, and their families at both inpatient and outpatient mental health clinics.
Najma utilizes a holistic approach inclusive of Strength-based Solution Focus Therapy, Positive Psychology, Empowerment and she has obtained certification in several Evidence-Based Practices (EBTs) and Relapse Prevention Treatment. These EBTs include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, CORS (Crisis Oriented Recovery Services), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Seeking Safety (trauma-focused work) Motivational Interviewing and Harm Reduction Models such as the Matrix Relapse Prevention Model, which is one of the most effective treatments for adult and adolescents struggling with alcohol and drug addiction. Najma has prior experience providing consultation, management, and clinical supervision to license-eligible staff.
