About Pamela Reid, MD
Dr. Pamela Reid is a board-certified psychiatrist and currently serves as the North Carolina Eastern Regional Medical Director for Mindpath Health. Dr. Reid followed a non-traditional path to the world of medicine. With early degrees in music, she has always been intrigued with how the arts can capture complex human feelings and provide comfort. Dr. Reid treats adults suffering from anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, psychotic disorders, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder. She provides psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychopharmacology and incorporates techniques from mindfulness-based therapy. Dr. Reid works to understand autoimmune and other immunologic diseases, psychiatric presentations of infectious diseases, medication and substance-induced psychiatric syndromes, and the nodal intersections of medical, psychiatric, and neurologic illnesses. She has experience providing care to underserved populations with chronic and persistent mental illnesses. Dr. Reid has provided oversight and assisted with the expansion of mobile crisis and hospital transition teams, walk-in crisis units, and facility-based crisis and non-hospital medical detox and substance use treatment facilities.
