Andrea Lochtefeld (she/her) enjoys building strong partnerships with clients on their mental health journeys. Her approach to therapy aims to empower clients to understand their unique positionality and provide insight into how they make meaning of life experiences as they strive to live with intentionality. Andrea has focused on working with college students over the last ten years and is passionate about supporting diverse client populations as they navigate higher education, stressors, relationships, and life transitions.
Andrea’s guiding philosophies are patient-centered, liberatory, and culturally affirmative. She leans on approaches rooted in feminist and psychodynamic frameworks, as well as dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulness and meditation. She also specializes in working with disordered eating and body image struggles, dating and relationships stressors and trauma reprocessing.
Outside of work, Andrea enjoys spending time outdoors with her dog and family, reading fiction and sci-fi, and trying new places to eat.
