About
Darryl approaches therapy with a patient-centered and collaborative perspective, recognizing that each person’s experiences, strengths, and goals are unique. He believes therapy is most effective when built on a strong therapeutic relationship grounded in trust, authenticity, and safety. With more than a decade of experience in behavioral health settings, Darryl has supported individuals facing challenges related to anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use disorders, relationships, and major life transitions. He integrates evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, and person-centered therapy to help patients gain insight, develop coping strategies, and create meaningful change.
Darryl was inspired to pursue a career in mental health through his own personal experiences with therapy, which showed him the impact that support, self-reflection, and meaningful change can have in a person’s life. These experiences deepened his passion for helping others navigate their own challenges, discover their strengths, and create positive change. Outside of work, Darryl enjoys spending time with his wife and two teenage sons, staying active, and cheering on the Padres and Chargers! As a San Diego native, he values family, meaningful relationships, balance, and finding joy in everyday life.
