Dawn L. Caffarella, LCSW, PhD, is a person-centered clinician who is committed to creating a welcoming and affirming space for individuals of all ages and backgrounds. She is trained in EMDR and DBT and is certified in substance-abuse treatment. Her doctoral research focused on Borderline Personality Disorder, reflecting her deep interest in understanding and supporting clients with complex emotional needs. As an AuDHD clinician herself, Dr. Caffarella works extensively with late-diagnosed neurodivergent individuals, providing compassionate, lived-experience-informed care. She also brings a pastoral background to her work, offering spiritual sensitivity without imposing personal beliefs.
Drawn to the field through her own experiences with bullying and trauma related to her neurodivergence, Dawn brings profound compassion and lived insight to her work. Outside the therapy room, she enjoys playing the piano, experimenting with watercolor art, and spending quiet days fishing—activities that inspire her balanced, grounded approach to life and practice. “I am humbled that you would be willing to trust me enough to share your pain with me.”
