Dr. Nguyen’s approach to patient care is collaborative, compassionate, and patient-centered. He believes it is important for patients to feel heard, respected, and comfortable discussing their concerns openly. Dr. Nguyen strives to communicate clearly and provide thoughtful, up-to-date guidance while creating a supportive and nonjudgmental environment. His clinical interests include refugee mental health and interventional psychiatry. He also strongly believes in a holistic approach to wellness that includes physical health, relationships, creativity, and meaningful daily activities alongside traditional psychiatric care.

Before medicine, Dr. Nguyen worked as both a high school English teacher and a theater artistic director, experiences that shaped his interest in listening to people’s stories and understanding the many ways individuals experience the world. Those experiences continue to influence his warm, humane, and creative approach to psychiatry.

Outside of work, Dr. Nguyen enjoys surfing, tennis, going to the gym, music of all kinds, theater, film, and literature. He believes maintaining balance, creativity, movement, and meaningful connections are all important parts of mental wellness and overall health.
