With nearly two decades of clinical experience, Dr. Elijah Kim (DNP, Psych NP) recognizes each individual’s uniqueness and focuses on their strengths, working collaboratively with patients to achieve the best possible outcomes. Having grown up in a different culture, he deeply respects cultural diversity and believes that individuals’ cultural background should be acknowledged, accommodated, and nurtured. Patient-centered care is one of his highest priorities. Dr. Kim emphasizes a balanced approach between clinical judgment and each patient’s personal choice, maintaining flexibility based on their situation, signs, and symptoms.
Dr. Kim was inspired to work in mental health through the belief that a person is more than just the physical body, and that the mind, body, and soul function as an interconnected whole. Over the years, he’s observed many individuals struggling with mental illness, and was deeply moved from witnessing their suffering, which strengthened his desire to support vulnerable populations through compassionate and comprehensive care. Outside of work, Dr. Kim enjoys staying active through sports such as tennis.
