About
Jeff’s approach is catered to his patients’ needs and strengths, and to their preferred modes of learning based on personal traditions and cultural values. He draws strongly from CBT, which emphasizes the crucial influence thoughts have on behavior and vice versa. His other go-to methodologies include Family Systems Theories, Psychodynamic Theory, and Existential Theory. His eclectic therapeutic approach allows him to draw from specific psychotherapeutic schools of thought to employ the techniques that result in making positive change.
Jeff was inspired to work in mental health from the deep empathy he feels for people. He finds he can relate to almost anyone’s problems and behaviors. He evokes a sense of trust and a non-judgmental attitude with patients, which helps with the quick development of the therapeutic bond, trust, and often rapid changes in behavior. His life experiences, education, and years of counseling have given him the opportunity to work with extremely diverse populations. Part of his practice is dedicated to working with the transgender community, who are at the forefront of change.
Outside of work, Jeff loves to travel, dine out, dance, and laugh with friends. He also enjoys an adrenaline rush from activities like skydiving and bungee jumping.
