Laura enjoys helping patients recognize their worth and importance as human beings, as well as helping cultivate self-compassion towards themselves. It’s important to her that patients feel safe and supported within the therapeutic relationship. Laura provides evidence-based approaches, including client-centered therapy, attachment theory, solution-focused therapy, CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), and DBT (dialectical behavior therapy). She is planning to become trained in ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention) to specialize in the treatment of OCD.
Laura’s journey into the mental health field started in high school after taking a psychology class, envisioning herself as a therapist in the future. Additionally, experiencing her own personal hardships inspired Laura to become a therapist to help others through their struggles. Outside of work, Laura enjoys spending time with her Pug, reading, listening to podcasts, taking walks in nature, and visiting the coast.
