Marieke Overman, PhD (she/her) is a psychologist who finds fulfillment in working with the college and graduate student population. She enjoys supporting them as they navigate major life transitions – whether adjusting to college life, processing trauma, working through grief, managing social and academic pressures, or exploring one’s sense of purpose. Dr. Overman takes a muti-modal approach to therapy, where she draws on humanistic, transpersonal, AIP, cognitive behavioral, ecopsychological and mindfulness-based frameworks to customize treatment to each client’s needs. Clinical modalities she utilizes include ERP, ACT, EMDR, CBT, Mindfulness and expressive arts techniques.
Dr. Overman’s specialties include treating trauma, OCD, bereavement, life transitions, women’s health, depression and anxiety disorders, and transpersonal growth. She also has experience working with active-duty military members, veterans, and marginalized populations. As an immigrant from the Netherlands Dr. Overman brings an appreciation for working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and life experiences.
Outside of her practice she enjoys meditating, traveling, hiking, reading literature, swimming in the ocean, creating art, and spending time with her husband, family, friends, and animals.
