Michael’s approach is rooted in safety, situational awareness, and compassionate, patient-centered care. He has over 30 years of healthcare experience, including working in the emergency department, leadership, and education. Having spent more than 25 years in the ER, he’s developed the ability to quickly assess patients, prioritize care, and respond effectively in high-acuity situations. He excels in maintaining calm in chaotic environments and using critical thinking and clinical judgment to make timely decisions. He believes in treating every patient with dignity and respect, even in the most challenging circumstances.
Michael’s interest in mental health began from his background in emergency nursing. Over the years, he’s seen how often mental health plays a role in what brings people into the ER, and how important it is to address it with the same urgency and compassion as physical health.
Michael also served in the Marine Corps during Desert Storm and is a combat-disabled veteran. That experience gave him a deeper understanding of trauma, resilience, and the unique challenges many patients face, which continues to shape how he connects with and cares for others. Outside of work, Michael values staying grounded and balanced. He is very family-oriented and enjoys traveling with his wife and kids.
