Dr. Seawell focuses on understanding patients in a holistic manner to set goals collaboratively and to ensure they are getting both what they need and want from the therapeutic relationship. His strengths include reflective listening and communication, as well as creating a comfortable dynamic with patients. He’s experienced with psychodynamic, supportive, cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavioral, acceptance and commitment, and internal family systems therapy modalities. In addition to comprehensive diagnostic evaluation, Dr. Seawell utilizes psychopharmacology, interventional techniques, and psychotherapy to help patients heal.
Dr. Seawell was inspired to work in mental health from observing friends and family receive help from dark psychological places through appropriate diagnosis and treatment. He is particularly interested in helping those with OCD, PTSD, depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, somatoform disorders, personality disorders, psychotic disorders, and bipolar-spectrum disorders.
Dr. Seawell’s hobbies include audio production and engineering, photography, and surfing.
