Sydney has a person-centered approach and honors each individual as an expert in their own experiences. She values trauma-informed care and integrates this throughout her practice, creating a supportive environment where patients feel seen, heard, and empowered. Sydney draws from acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and narrative therapy. These approaches reflect her commitment to empathy, unconditional positive regard, empowerment, and education. Sydney genuinely cares about her patients and is passionate about equipping them with the knowledge and tools they need to grow. She believes that one of the most important parts of therapy is providing a safe space to process thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, helping individuals gain deeper self-understanding and improve their overall quality of life. Sydney’s interest in mental health is rooted in her own family history of mental illness, trauma, and substance use. During college, she realized she was searching for a deeper understanding of her mind and why she thinks, feels, and behaves the way she does. Outside work, Sydney enjoys art, especially drawing and watercolor painting, and any creative outlet that allows her to express her worldview and make something beautiful. She loves watching movies and TV and feels connected to her nerdy community. She also loves to travel and enjoys discovering new places and good food!
