Community Psychiatry Now Offers TMS Treatment for Major Depressive Disorder in Greater Sacramento, California

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Community Psychiatry Management, LLC, the largest outpatient mental health organization in California with more than 40 offices, including one of the nation’s most experienced Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatment centers in Calabasas and Simi Valley, is pleased to announce today that TMS therapy is now available through Community Psychiatry’s practice in Sacramento, California and will soon be added to centers in Davis and Folsom, California.

TMS is a safe, non-invasive, non-systemic FDA-cleared device for the treatment of Major Depressive Disorder. Since its FDA-approval in 2008, TMS has been well-regarded by the medical community as a safe and effective alternative treatment for depression and does not have any of the side effects commonly seen with medication.

“We are thrilled to see Community Psychiatry offering TMS treatments,” said Dr. Abhijit Ramanujam from Community Psychiatry’s practice in Sacramento, CA. “This life-changing treatment is going to help our patients who are suffering from depression sleep better, feel better, and enjoy life again.”

Major Depressive Disorder affects more than 16.1 million American adults. While medications and therapy can be very effective in helping those with depression, up to 40 percent of patients do not receive adequate relief from these treatments. TMS is particularly helpful for people with depression who have not experienced significant relief from antidepressant medications.

“At Community Psychiatry, we provide exceptional mental health care in the communities we serve, and now that includes offering TMS in Sacramento,” said Dr. Priyanka, Medical Director of Community Psychiatry. “We believe that this treatment for depression is just the beginning of what we will see TMS used for in clinical settings in the years to come.”

TMS is changing the future of psychiatry through innovative technology that gives patients relief from major depression. TMS is covered by most insurance companies for major depression. For more information about TMS at Community Psychiatry, call 866-317-7282 or visit www.communitypsychiatry.com.
