About
Dr. Coats approaches patient care with compassion, collaboration, and a trauma-informed perspective. She views mental health care as a partnership that honors each person’s unique background, values, and goals. Drawing from a psychodynamic perspective, she helps patients better understand their experiences and patterns that may be affecting their well-being.
Her individualized approach may include medication management, psychotherapy, and practical guidance on lifestyle changes. She strives to create a welcoming, nonjudgmental environment where patients feel heard, respected, and empowered to lead more fulfilling and authentic lives. She believes mental health is foundational to overall health and welcomes individuals from all backgrounds and identities. She is also a proud LGBTQ+ ally.
Curiosity about the complexity and artistry of what makes us who we are first drew Dr. Coats to the field of mental health care. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, pug-themed activities, traveling, reading, and trying new gluten-free desserts.
