Jessica’s approach to care is compassionate and relational. She focuses on self-awareness, improving interpersonal relationships, and fostering self-compassion. She believes meaningful changes occur when people feel understood and emotionally safe. Jessica’s personal values of multicultural humility and feminist philosophy are important in her practice and are vital to a strong therapeutic relationship. Her clinical skills are guided by evidence-based approaches, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP). She is also certified as a Perinatal Mental Health Therapist (PMH-C) and is able to treat maternal mental health to vulnerable populations.
As a naturally curious person, human behavior and the social environment have always been fascinating to Jessica. She has also experienced complex trauma, continues to experience some generalized anxiety and executive functioning quirks, and has been in the throes of depression while navigating the healthcare system. Her social justice philosophy and background drives her to give back and help others within this same healthcare system.
Outside of work, her interests and hobbies include playing bar trivia and board games, going to concerts and comedy shows, traveling, and spending intentional time with friends and family, including her daughter.
