Christie approaches each patient with curiosity, openness, and a genuine commitment to their wellbeing. She believes meaningful, effective treatment begins with understanding the context of a person’s symptoms, strengths, values, priorities, and life circumstances. She draws on evidence-based clinical knowledge while collaborating with patients to develop treatment plans that are realistic, meaningful, and aligned with their goals. Her approach is grounded in whole-person care and shared decision-making.
Christie’s interest in mental health began during her four years as an oncology nurse. She found herself especially drawn to the conversations beyond medical treatment: helping patients navigate fear, uncertainty, changes in identity, and the many ways illness can affect their lives. Those experiences ultimately led her to pursue psychiatric nursing. Since then, Christie’s experiences in outpatient psychiatry, psycho-oncology, adolescent eating disorders, and substance use treatment have continued to shape her approach to care.
Outside of work, she enjoys yoga, cooking, traveling, trying new restaurants, and spending time with her husband, family, friends, and pets, Momo and Sesame.
