Tessa uses an integrative, trauma-informed approach to therapy that recognizes each patient’s unique experiences, strengths, and goals. She believes the therapeutic relationship is an important foundation for creating a safe, collaborative, and supportive space where patients feel heard and understood. She draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help patients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, while also incorporating somatic approaches that recognize the important connection between the mind and body. She believes individuals have inherent strengths and the capacity for growth, and works collaboratively with patients to foster greater self-awareness and self-compassion.
Tessa has always been passionate about supporting others through life’s challenges. One of the most rewarding parts of her work is witnessing people discover their strengths, recognize their inherent worth, and develop greater self-awareness and self-compassion.
Outside of work, Tessa enjoys spending time with family, being in nature, and especially spending time near the ocean. She values making time for everyday moments of self-care, whether that’s reading, completing a puzzle, going for a walk with her dog, or simply slowing down and enjoying time with loved ones.
