Joseph Zerrudo (he/him) became drawn to the path of working in mental health care due to his desire to be a supportive presence to others. Joseph draws from both his past personal experiences as a college student and his professional training to help his clients navigate the various challenges and transitions they may often face both within and outside of the higher education system.
Joseph utilizes an eclectic approach to practicing therapy, most often incorporating elements of person-centered therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness techniques, somatic/body-oriented techniques, and parts work. Joseph strives to provide a collaborative, culturally affirmative, and social justice centered space for his clients. One of Joseph’s favorite quotes and guiding principles is, “Baby steps to giant strides,” which serves as a reminder to his clients and himself that taking even the smallest steps toward change is still progress.
Outside of work, Joseph enjoys reading and writing poetry, playing games of all kinds, watching his favorite shows, and spending time with his loved ones.
