Marilyn (she/her) became a therapist because she believes everyone deserves a space where they feel heard, supported, and empowered to grow. She enjoys working with college students because she recognizes that this stage of life can bring exciting opportunities alongside stress, uncertainty, and important questions about identity, relationships, and the future. Life transitions, such as entering higher education, is filled with change and self-discovery, and Marilyn values creating a space where clients can explore who they are, navigate these experiences, and build confidence throughout treatment.
Marilyn takes a humanistic, culturally sensitive and trauma-informed approach to therapy, integrating evidence-based practices while honoring each client’s unique experiences, values, and goals. She believes that a genuine therapeutic relationship fosters self-awareness, self-compassion, and meaningful change. Together, she collaborates with clients to build on their strengths, identify their needs, and develop lasting skills and tools to navigate challenges independently with greater confidence.
She has a special interest in supporting Latinx, BIPOC, LGBTIQA+ communities, women, students at all levels, and adult children of alcoholics; particularly those experiencing people-pleasing tendencies, perfectionism, codependent relationship patterns, and low self-esteem.
Outside of clinical work, Marilyn enjoys the arts such as photography and macrame, doing puzzles, and spending time in nature.
