Scott Griffies, MD

Dr. Scott Griffies’s interest in the relationship between the brain and body furthered his pursuit of a career in psychiatry. Dr. Griffies provides medication management, psychodynamic psychotherapy, mind-brain-body skills, and psychoeducation and he is a Regional Medical Director of North Carolina. He sees general psychiatric patients and has a special interest in how stress and emotional trauma can be indirectly expressed through physical symptoms. He began his medical career as a surgeon and in addition to certifications in general psychiatry he also has certification in psychosomatics/consult-liaison psychiatry and psychoanalysis. He is passionate not only about treatment with evidence-based psychopharmacology but also helping patients understand themselves.
