Maureen is passionate about helping her patients achieve happiness, stability, and safety. She is dual certified as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and family nurse practitioner, bringing a comprehensive perspective to care that bridges physical and mental health. Maureen approaches each individual with compassion and personalized care, believing treatment should reflect the patient’s unique story, goals, and values. She begins by thoroughly assessing past and present experiences and collaborates closely with her patients to prioritize their needs. Maureen uses a stepwise approach to care, offering multiple treatment paths and empowering patients to choose the one that feels right to them.
With a background in exercise science and physical therapy, Maureen integrates medical and holistic practices to support psychiatric and forensic patients. She encourages individuals to self-advocate and engage in practices that promote wellness – physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
Maureen’s journey into psychiatry was inspired by her experiences as a bedside nurse in hospitals, correctional settings, and forensic care, where she recognized the gaps in advocacy for vulnerable populations. She felt called to bring compassion and empathy to individuals who are often overlooked, finding fulfillment in providing basic care and comfort to those affected by trauma. Her time working in a psychiatric emergency room strengthened her belief in the importance of consistent, quality outpatient care – something she is proud to provide through her work at Mindpath Health.
Maureen finds seeing her patients thrive most rewarding – whether that means stabilizing mood, easing anxiety, or simply hearing laughter during a follow-up visit. She sees the therapeutic relationship as a true partnership, where clinician and patient are equal players on the same team, working together to achieve fulfillment and lasting well-being.
Outside of work, Maureen enjoys being near the water – boating, fishing, kayaking, and riding wave runners. She also finds joy in attending festivals, catching seafood, and practicing organic farming and gardening.
