Amy believes building strong rapport is essential for effective therapy. She creates a comfortable space for patients to open up and explore their challenges. Amy asks thoughtful questions that encourage deep reflection and uncover the root of the problem. She draws from various therapeutic approaches, including cognitive behavioral, family systems, humanistic, mindfulness-based, narrative, person-centered, solution-focused, family systems, reality therapies, and motivational interviewing. Inspired by her father’s rewarding career in social work, Amy followed in his footsteps, finding joy in helping patients grow and gain self-awareness. Originally from Michigan, she has called North Carolina home since 2007. Outside work, Amy enjoys drawing, hiking, painting, and traveling. She has worked with several rescues, fostering and adopting numerous cats and dogs.
