Amanda’s approach to therapy focuses on creating a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental space where patients can explore challenges. She helps patients identify obstacles to well-being and works collaboratively to create positive change. Amanda emphasizes the interconnectedness of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, assisting patients to shift unhelpful patterns to align with their values and goals. Amanda incorporates mindfulness and resilience-building strategies to create self-awareness and empowerment. A cornerstone of Amanda’s practice is eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), an effective approach for resolving trauma, emotional pain, and stress. EMDR allows patients to release negative emotional patterns and gain a clearer perspective. While often used for trauma, EMDR also addresses a wide range of emotional struggles and life challenges. Amanda’s passion for mental health stems from her time serving in the military, where she witnessed the challenges of accessing mental health support and the stigma surrounding seeking help. Outside work, she enjoys spending time with her family, exploring dog-friendly places, and tackling DIY projects. Amanda also tracks her physical health, which helps her stay connected with her body and mind.
