Marissa Hirsch, MD – Psychiatrist in Los Angeles, CA | Mindpath Health
See more cliniciansAbout
Dr. Hirsch approaches psychiatry with a deep respect for each patient’s individual story. She believes that mental health care should be collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in an understanding of both biology and lived experience. By exploring how early relationships, social environments, and personal identity shape each person’s inner world, Dr. Hirsch helps patients better understand themselves and their path forward. With training in both general and forensic psychiatry, she brings a thoughtful, structured approach to diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Hirsch values clear communication and works alongside patients to develop care plans that are both practical and empowering.
Dr. Hirsch was drawn to psychiatry by a lifelong fascination with stories – how people make sense of their lives, their challenges, and their resilience. Her background in neuroscience deepened her appreciation for the biology of the brain, but it was her love of writing and listening that led her to a career focused on understanding the whole person.
Outside of work, she enjoys running, hiking, checking out the best local gelato spots, and unwinding with comedy shows. She’s also an avid fan of pulp fiction and finds joy in getting lost in a good story. These hobbies help her recharge and bring a grounded, present energy to her clinical work.
