Dr. Lim believes in the importance of the patient’s story. After listening and allowing the them to share their history, he offers various treatment options so they have the autonomy to choose the treatment that they prefer.
Dr. Lim enjoys working in mental health because it gives him the opportunity to spend time with the patient and to connect with them. Sometimes he may disclose to patients his own experience with mental health and may also share his experience with chronic illness, having asthma as child. He attributes his modest upbringing to being able to build strong connections with patients of varied education, circumstances, and backgrounds. Additionally, he enjoys working with those with diverse cultures, including refugees and immigrants.
