Dr. Garcia-Baran uses a patient-centered approach, which is focused around establishing a therapeutic alliance, validation, safety, and trust. One of her strengths is respect for worldviews, whether they are religious, spiritual, humanistic, or secular philosophical points of view of themselves and the world. Her philosophy as a clinician is to empower her patients with a treatment plan that works for their lifestyle.
With over 20 years of service in the military, Dr. Garcia-Baran has served in support of the serviceman on foreign and, homeland soil, often under extreme pressure which has strengthened her commitment to the not only active-duty servicemen and veterans, but those who support them at home. Her education from UNC Chapel Hill broadened her skills and compassion towards a larger cultural mission.
