About Martha "Marty" Watkins, LCMHC
Marty knows positive change is possible when we embrace our strengths and dedicate ourselves to improving. She encourages her patients to actively participate in therapy, collaborating with them to build the motivation and trust they need to commit themselves to this path of improvement. Marty is well-versed in home-based programs and school counseling. She uses cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, behavior management, and play therapy, believing each patient’s needs should dictate how they approach their treatment. Marty’s favorite part of being a therapist is making an emotional connection with a patient and being a part of that person’s growth. She loves spending time at the beach searching for seashells and shark teeth. Marty also likes to paint furniture, is learning to make her plants live (she doesn’t have a green thumb!), and once rescued an injured pelican.
