About Michael Adelman, M.D.Dr. Michael Adelman has been devoted to the care of children and adolescents struggling with behavioral health issues for most of his clinical life. Dr. Adelman is drawn to this field due to the striking real-world nature of his everyday work existence. Working in behavioral health emphasizes the humanity behind our existence, both individually and communally. Rather than the “traditional” doctor-patient relationship of expert and patient, the behavioral health perspective must recognize the importance of collaboration. Dr. Adelman’s true passion lies within assisting patients and families in identifying their own internal power and resiliency factors in treatment and gradually moving to a place of greater self-respect and self-efficacy in the context of the therapeutic relationship. Dr. Adelman is unique in the breadth of his experience within pediatrics, psychiatry, and child psychiatry. This “triple board” training provides a unique development and an excellent framework to understand fully the benefits and limitations of behavioral health work in children and adolescents leading to improved partnerships with families and more wholistic treatment planning. Dr. Adelman brings a level of genuine care and humility to his work along with a profound respect for the unique journey and perspectives of each of his patients and families.

Dr. Adelman listened and did not make us feel rushed in the appointment. This was our 1st appointment, so not a lot to go off of yet, but overall, he seems kind, and thoughtful. Scheduling the appointment was not. The link we received did not take us to the Telehealth appointment, but to the Patient Portal, with an assessment form that could not be closed until completed. This particular form is the incorrect form, and does not apply to our son. I have tried calling MindPath about this, and have been told I will get a call back from someone about this. I may have missed that call, so when I try to call back, I am again placed in a loop of needing to talk to the "correct" person. MindPath, NOT the provider, seems to have many technical problems. I also found it annoying that I have to fax a form in 2022 vs being able to upload it to the patient portal.

Dr. Adelman is why I would recommend Mindpath Health and also the helpfulness of reception at his office. We have not worked with any other providers We are so grateful for Dr. Adelman so far, we hope the quality of his care continues

Dr. Adelman will be the reason we will return or recommend others to go to Mindpath. He was easy to speak with, listened to our daughters concerns. Dealing with the schedulers can be problematic. It does not seem as though the customer service line works closely with the local office of Dr. Adelman. Trying to get through to Dr. Adelmans office was a challenge, resulting in us being a few minutes late to our appointment as we were trying to navigate the office area when we got to Cary and needed directions. The receptionist upon getting to Adelmans office had no idea where the restroom was. Aside from these minor issues, we were ultimately pleased with the actual service received from Dr. Adelman.
